Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GrandPA, a macOS menu bar application operated by DUOLIKE AS ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using GrandPA, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Description of Service
GrandPA lets an AI agent (such as Claude) control a grandMA3 lighting console over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It sends commands to, and reads state back from, a grandMA3 console over OSC on your local network. GrandPA does not control any hardware directly — it issues the same kind of commands an operator would enter at the console.
GrandPA requires a working subscription or account with Claude or another MCP-compatible AI agent to function; that subscription is provided by a separate third party, is billed separately, and is not included in the price of a GrandPA license. Your use of that AI agent is governed by its own provider's terms, and we are not responsible for its availability, behavior, or output.
Free Trial and Licenses
GrandPA is free to try, with a limited number of write commands included before a license is required. A license is a one-time purchase of $99 USD, unlocks unlimited use, and is valid on one machine. Purchases are processed by our reseller, Paddle.com Market Limited, who acts as the Merchant of Record for your order.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use GrandPA to:
- Access or attempt to access a console you are not authorized to control;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application beyond what applicable law permits;
- Share, resell, or sublicense a license key beyond the machine(s) it is bound to;
- Abuse, overload, or interfere with our license servers or infrastructure.
Intellectual Property
GrandPA and its software, branding, and technology are owned by us and protected by applicable law. Show files, cues, and other content you create using GrandPA remain yours; we claim no ownership over them.
Disclaimer of Warranties
GrandPA is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Because GrandPA lets an AI agent drive commands to a live lighting console, you are responsible for reviewing and confirming any command — and anything the AI agent proposes or generates — before it runs on stage or in front of an audience, especially destructive or safety-relevant commands. We do not warrant that the Service, or the third-party AI agent it connects to, will be available, uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
You use GrandPA entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DUOLIKE AS and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, GrandPA or any connected AI agent or console — including damage to equipment, lost show time, cancelled or disrupted performances, or personal injury — regardless of the theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation applies whether damages arise from our own negligence, a defect in the Service, an action taken by a connected AI agent, or the acts or omissions of any third party. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Refund Policy
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase date. To request a refund, contact us at the email below with your order or transaction ID. Refund requests made after 30 days will not be eligible. Refunds are processed by Paddle, our payment provider, and may take several business days to appear.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or revoke a license at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, or on a valid refund or chargeback.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts.
