This page describes how GrandPA, operated by DUOLIKE AS, collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Information We Collect

When you purchase a license, we collect the email address used at checkout so we can issue and, if needed, re-send your license key. When you activate GrandPA on a machine, the app sends a one-way hashed identifier for that machine (not any other device or personal information) so we can enforce the seat limit on your license and check it periodically. That same hashed identifier is attached to crash reports, so we can tell how many machines a fault affects and look up the crashes behind a support request.

GrandPA does not track how you use it. There is no analytics or usage tracking in the app: it does not record which commands you send, what you build, or when and how often you use it.

It does send us a report when it crashes or hits an unexpected error, so we can fix the fault — see Crash Reports below for what one contains and what it deliberately leaves out.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes your payment, collects any tax due, and handles your card details directly — we never see or store your payment card information. See Paddle's Privacy Policy for how they handle your data.

Crash Reports

When GrandPA crashes, or hits an error it did not expect, it sends us a diagnostic report so we can find the fault and fix it. A report contains the error message, a technical trace showing where in our own code it happened, the version of GrandPA you are running, your operating system and its version, and the same one-way hashed machine identifier used for licensing. The identifier is what lets us count how many machines a fault affects rather than how many times it happened, and find the crashes behind a support request — and it does mean a crash report can be connected to the license activated on that machine.

A report does not contain your show. Fixture names, cue and sequence names, presets, patch data, the commands you or an AI agent send to the console, and the contents of any file GrandPA reads or writes are never included. Neither is your name, your email address, nor your license key itself, and file paths have your account name stripped out of them before a report leaves your machine.

Normal operation is not reported. GrandPA being unable to reach a console that is switched off, or telling you a license key is not valid, is an expected condition rather than a fault, and sends us nothing.

Reports are processed on our behalf by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) on servers in the United States. Sentry self-certifies to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, and our data processing agreement with them incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We use crash reports only to diagnose and fix faults in GrandPA.

Infrastructure

Our license server and website are hosted with Hetzner in the EU. License keys, email addresses, and hashed machine identifiers are stored there.

Email Delivery

Transactional emails — sending you your license key, or a resend if you ask us to look one up by email — are delivered through Postmark. We do not use your email address for marketing.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to issue, deliver, and support your license, and to fix faults in GrandPA. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors named above.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to this page.
